5/117 Pump house to south-west
of Skutterskelfe Hall

Pump House, early C20. Brick, stone, timber frame and pebbledash; felted roof.
Japanese style. 1 tall storey, 4 bays. Stone-coped brick plinth supports
pegged, timber-framed structure with infill partly stone and partly pebble-
dashed. Four shuttered windows. Hipped, swept roof has deeply-overhanging
eaves on incised curved brackets, painted red to form a contract with the black
wall timbers. Two battered square ridge vents have deeply-swept pyramidal roofs
with ball finials. Later rear additions are not of interest.
