Cottage and smithy. Late C18-early C19. Red brick, with pantile and
machine-tile roofs. 2-storey cottages. 3 bays in all with 1-storey, 2-bay
smithy to right. Cottages: C20 half-glazed door to right of left-hand bay;
C19 board door to far right. To left of this a side-sliding sash with
segmental brick arch. 2 left-hand bays have 6-pane sashes with segmental
brick arches and stone cills. 1st floor: 6-pane sashes with stone cills.
Machine tile roof, stack to left end and 2 to ridge. Smithy: board carriage
door with flush frame and segmental brick relieving arch on left. To right
a side-sliding sash with segmental relieving arch and shutters. Stepped
dentilled eaves. Pantile roof with stack to right end. Occupies a
prominent position closing 2 vistas.
