Cowhouse with hayloft. Late C17. Magnesian limestone rubble, stone slate
eaves courses to pantile roof (largely stripped at time of resurvey (1987)).
2 storeys, 7 bays. North side has large quoins and irregular joint with barn
on left (not of special interest); 2 banded ashlar door surrounds and 4
inserted slatted-casement windows; external steps to far right with deeply-
chamfered landing platform beyond which is a door in C20 blockwork beneath
wooden lintel. 1st floor. 4 double-chamfered window openings without
mullions; boarded landing door with small 1-light window and another double-
chamfered, 2-light window beyond. Ashlar gable copings. Rear: S original
double-chamfered 1-light openings to 1st floor.
Interior: collared principal-rafter trusses with wind. braces and double
purlins; plastered stud infill to westernmost truss.
A contemporary barn formerly attached to north-west corner but now demolished
bore the date 1671 (previous list description).
