Park lodge,c 1870. By Lockwood and Mawson for Sir Titus Salt. Hammer-dressed stone, ashlar dressings, Welsh slate roof. Gothic Revival style. Single storey. T-shaped with open porch set in the angle between the 2 ranges to south front. Facing gable has semicircular- arched 4-paned sash window with pointed-arched hoodmould and impost which forms continuous stringcourse. Coped bracketed gable, surmounted by hooded bellcote. 4-flued central ridge stack, one other stack to this range. Slightly set back open porch with semicircular-arch carried on Corinthian columns, floral-decorated spandrels. Wing at right angles has arched sash window and central double-flued ridge stack. Left-hand return has 3 bays of arched windows all with linking stringcourse to impost. Right-hand return wall, gable of wing, has semicircular bay window with 3 arched windows with Doric columns as mullions.
