Farmhouse. C15, extended and altered during late C16 or C17, minor C20
alterations. Sandstone rubble with corrugated asbestos roof. C15 wing
aligned east/west with later wing aligned north/south adjoining to south.
Central projecting gabled porch to east front, gable-end stacks to later
cross-wing, axial stack to earlier wing. Single storey with attic to
earlier wing, two storeys and attics to later wing; east front: 4-light
diamond mullioned windows flank central porch to upper floor, one C19
casement window to left with 5-light diamond mullioned and transomed
window to right with square-headed label, a continuous pentice extends
to left and to right on first floor flanking porch with segmental-headed
doorway, inner moulded square-headed surround to doorway with segmental
head, heavy battened door with decorative strap hinges. Interior of C15
wing reveals two cruck trusses which have been mutilated at the base,
later wing retains good chamfered and moulded ceiling beams; plank-and-
muntin panelled partitions survive on ground and first floor with segmental-
headed doorways; large stone winder staircase to south gable end and further
staircase in north gable end. (RCHM Vol I, p 186).
