Farmhouse. C16 with C17 additions and late C19 and minor C20 alterations. Part
rendered sandstone rubble with Welsh slate roof, long range aligned north-east/
south-west with central later cross-wing, former through-passage now blocked, one
gable-end stack and axial stack with later C19 stack to gable end of central cross-
wing on south-east front. Single storey with attic, north-west front: central
slate-hung gable with 2-light casement window, 3 windows to ground floor, one
below gable with 4-light ovolo-moulded window with square-headed label, 2-light
casement to right in blocked doorway of former through-passage, C20 window to
right, south-east front has C19 ledged door with one C20 window to left and
irregular scattered C20 windows to right. Interior reveals cruck construction
with 2 cruck trusses remaining fairly intact; very good heavily moulded ceiling
beams and joists with carved foliage stops in room to north-east of entrance,
probably a primary floor; remaining ceiling beams (probably inserted) are also
chamfered with moulded beams to central room. Two stone winder staircases integral
with stacks, large open fireplaces with triangular-headed niche in lintel of south-
west gable-end stack, square-headed niche in lintel of north-east fireplace,
triangular-headed doorway to south-west staircase.
