Shop and dwelling, now museum. c1621. Post-and-pan timber-frame and plaster; plain tile roof with 3 gables; central brick stack with pilasters and stone finials. 3 storeys, attic and cellar; 3-window range: 12-light, canted mullion and transom oriels on figurehead consoles; moulded bressumer, with smaller oriels over; quarterbraced panels with mullion lights to gables; enriched barge boards. Entrance to centre right: porch with studded plank door in 4-centred arch with carved spandrels and moulded case; enriched barge boards and pendants, on figurehead brackets; flanked by mullion and transom oriels, and, to left, 10-light bay window, under pentice roof, on moulded posts. Returned sides have enriched gables over mullion and transom oriels; further oriels and decoration to rear. INTERIOR: C17 staircase to 1st floor, with barley sugar twist balusters and moulded rail and string; early C19 balusters, from 1st to 2nd floor. 2nd floor: plank door with decorated strap hinges; exposed timbers; firegrate; fireback and bolection moulded fireplace. 1st floor: panelling; stone 4-centred arch fireplace with carved overmantel. Ground floor: stone fireplace with timber lintel; stone fireplace; plasterwork ceiling. Formerly part of Butcher's Row: a remarkable survival.
