Silk weaving mill, now converted for use as offices, but empty on inspection (April 1992). Dated 1853, with C20 alterations. Brick on stone plinth with Welsh slate roof, the internal structure with cast-iron columns carrying timber beams. Long rectilinear block with shorter wing to Hobson Street enclosing a courtyard, former boiler house projecting from west. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 19-window range to south, with wing to east an 11-window range. Main doorway in centre of eastern wing, in chamfered stone architrave with date incised in a tablet over. Windows throughout are 16-paned with wood glazing bars, stone sills and flat-arched heads. Integral square section chimney at NW angle with projecting former engine house alongside.
