Perhaps farmhouse or small-holder's house. Probably C17, perhaps earlier
origins. Thinly coursed rubble, part timber-frame, corrugated iron roof.
South gable end rebuilt in brick in C20. Plan appears to be one cell and
later byre or barn replacing lost (?) second cell. Aligned north/south.
North gable projects twice: once for chimney, again for stair turret.
North gable elevation has truncated stack, small stair light formerly with
2 diamond section mullions and to left of chimney an irregularly placed
2-light window, probably C18. West elevation: heavily remodelled, rendered
to right hand end, 2-light C18 (?) window to left of central ledged C19 door.
East elevation is timber-framed on high rubble plinth with 2 square panels
up to wall-plate, masked by C20 lean-to. Interior: divided axially by mid-
C19 partitions, heavy jowled posts to queen strut at north end. South end
has raking struts with minor parallel struts to aid plastering. Partial
plank and muntin screen below southern truss. Timber-framing and walls
appear to protrude into present byre. Stone newel stairs to left of fire-
place with C18 (?) hinged smoke baffle.
