SO47NE Lodge and attached wall at Stokesay

Gate lodge. Dated 1890. By Thomas Harris. Dressed stone
rubble; slate roof; 2 stone stacks.
EXTERIOR: single storey; 2-window range: 2 3-light chamfered
ashlar windows with leaded lights, in ashlar cases. Ashlar
arch with fluted keyblock to left, opening into porch; moulded
cornice to stone-coped parapet rising to central shaped gable
with tablet and ball finial.
Left returned side (to drive): double arch to porch containing
panelled door with light, in chamfered ashlar case. Sharply
canted bay window to left with chamfered ashlar cross-windows
with leaded lights, under parapet and similar gable; returned
storey band.
Right returned side: similar gable; attached rubble wall with
stone coping and plank door. Pentice-roofed outshut to rear.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
