1801 by Legg of Stamford in the Elizabethan style of Burghley House. Ashlar.
Triple arched gateway flanked by lodges. The central arched carriageway has
niches and 3/4 Tuscan columns supporting entablature with obelisks, balls
and Cecil arms over the centre. The family crests in balustrade over pedestrian
archways either side. Flanking tall 3 storey lodges, square ground and first
floors and octagonal second floor with ogee shaped stone cupola roofs with
chimney emerging from top.
The low flanking walls have cornices and balls. The gates are of decorative
ironwork.
