C18 earlier-mid, 3 storeys. 4 windows. Tiled roof. Red brick with stone dressings. Stone cornice with parapet over. Square-headed recessed windows with stone architraves with ears and key blocks to ground and 1st floors; glazing bars. Carriageway at east end with semi-elliptical rusticated arch. Architraved doorway on return through carriageway with hood. The range of associated buildings to the rear, forming two parallel courtyards running back to the river bank, are included in the description of nos. 32, 34 and 36 Market Square (q.v.).
Part of this range is also attached to no. 38 Market Square.
Nos 16 to 46 (even) form a group.
