History

Bier house built to serve the adjacent Scotch Baptist Rehoboth chapel, erected in 1820, and probably contemporary with it.

Exterior

Small rectangular bierhouse of local rubble construction with roughly-kneelered rubble gable parapets; old slate roof with tiled ridge. Entrance to the centre on the chapel-facing side, with slate lintel; rectangular upper light to the L gable end.

Interior

Plain interior with single-bay roof; replaced purlins.

Reasons for Listing

Listed as an early C19 bier house built to serve the adjacent Scotch Baptist chapel, retaining good original external character.

Group value with Rehoboth chapel.
