Anglosaxon style. A stone, with a Saxon interlace pattern, was found in the rubble of the south transept gable during the conservation effort. When consolidation work was done, this stone was placed as the right hand side of the piscina shown here. The transept itself would have been a chantry chapel in the fourteenth century; prayers being said for the lords of the manor and such others as paid for the privilege. (Photo Sept 2007).
