1/297 Lease Farm Cottage

Formerly farmhouse and labourers cottage, now a house: C17 with C20
alterations and additions. Timber framed on brick plinth, thatched
roof, and 1 brick chimney. Long'rectangular plan with 2 room
gable-entry house as core. 1½-storey, 4-bay south front. Left end
bay is lower and is the former cottage having C20 board door in crude
wooden frame and 3-light dormer swept over by thatch. Remainder has 3
C20 casements below and a gabled half-dormer above. The right end bay
being a C20 addition.
Interior: Shouldered lintel to former gable-entry by chamfered heck
post and fire beam. Chamfered ceiling beams. 3-light
square-sectioned wood mullioned window now contained inside does not
appear to have been glazed.
