Mansion dated 1621 and 1630, built of red brick diapered with dark blue brick on west front, and with stone plinth, quoins and other details. The entrance front is 36 metres wide. Stone doorway with rounded arch and rusticated jambs. Above it an entablature with a ball each side. Stone tablet with Ashby family arms and date 6 Chas. (6th year of the reign of Charles I, 1630). Above the parapet is a C19 stone bellcote and bell. (Photo TP Jackson Aug 1977).
