A Grade I Listed Building in Ryhall, Rutland

Church of St John the Evangelist, Ryhall

An anchorite (hermits) cell was built onto the church wall at one time, with him in it. This is his squint, through which he could join in the services. The pictures of former Vicars and the flower vase give away the tiny size of it. (Photo Apr 2008).
