--1-- Tall, rectangular, Classical with fine incised details including columns to each side each with a female figure, and a globe in the centre. The columns are decorated with strings of beads and shell. The left hand figure holds a scroll with -I know that my redeemer liveth- and -Gloria Deo- (To the glory of God) on the banner. The globe is circled by Ouroburos, the gigantic serpent eating its own tail. -The earth shall perish but the Glory of the Lord shall endure-. The right hand lady hold the end of a banner reading JHS (for Jesus) and the Anchor of Hope -Hope in the Lord-. To Sarah Marriott wife of William Marriott d. 20th Feb 1814 age 49. -Husband farewel Im gone before/ My love to you can be no more/ No grief nor sorrow for me take/ But love my Children for my sake-.
