House. Late C18. Red brick with stone dressings and slate
roof. 3 storeys and basement, 3 bays. Ground floor sill
band. 1st floor sill band interrupted by lengthened windows.
Cornice. Round-arched doorway to right with engaged Doric
columns supporting dosserets and open pediment. 6-panel
door and tall fanlight. Stone sills and wedge lintels to
windows which are sashed throughout, those to the 1st and
2nd floors with glazing bars. Panelled reveals or shutters
visible. Plain iron railings to basement area. Birthplace
of Felicia Hemans the poet (1793). Pedimented doorcases,
staircase and decorations said to exist in interior.
